It’s the end of September (It’s already October, oops!) and I have to say that I didn’t get to read as many books as I want to. I recently went home to Indonesia from the UK so I’ve been quite busy with that. Other than that, I just spent more time going out with my family and friends so I haven’t been able to blog much as well. And now! I finally have the time to blog 🙂
READ
This month, I’ve finished two books; Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard and Empire of Storm by Sarah J Maas. I’ve yet to review Empire of Storms because I’m not sure how to review the book without spoiling everyone. I have a thought to create one massive post about the series since I’ve only reviewed the first book so far.
Actually, I’ve read more Indonesian books this time. It’s been a while since I read any since I didn’t bring Indonesian novels to the UK so I’m currently catching up with them. I also read more Indonesian novels this month. If any Indonesian is reading this, I’m currently in love with novels written by AliaZalea. I read all her books (Celebrity Wedding, Crash Into You, Miss Pesimis, Blind Date, The Devil in Black Jeans, and Dirty Little Secret) in these last two weeks and I really enjoyed it! The way her books written reminds me of Western novel which is quite rare in Indonesian novel. She tackles taboo topics which is really refreshing. I’m waiting for more books from her! (And I think I’m going to review her books. For the Indonesians, ditunggu ya!)
I also read Indonesian novels from other new authors I just discovered. I’m still in the hunt for new favourite Indonesian authors so if you have any recommendations, hit me up! 🙂
CURRENTLY READING
There are two books that I’m almost done with. The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood. I know I’ve mentioned this book before and I’ve tried to finish it but I haven’t been able to. I read almost half the book on the plane but still haven’t finished it yet so this is on my almost-finish-and-should-be-read-soon list. The second book in that list it Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. I’m 80% into the story and really want to finish it.
TO BE READ
Two books on my to be read list; Court of Thorns and Roses and Court of Mist and Fury, both by Sarah J Maas. I know I’m late to the party for this one! Just like the Throne of Glass series, there are a lot of hype surrounding the book so I was not quite sure. But I’ve read lthe first chapter of the first book and so far I like it and want to read more! So once I’m done with the books, I’ll continue reading this series. I have also just got The Goal by Elle Kennedy, which is the last book in her Off-Campus series and I couldn’t be more excited to read Tucker’s story!
I’m praying that I’d get to read the books I mention above because I’ve been waiting for them.
What have you guys been reading and what do you want to read this month?
xo,
Naths
