… The super late wrap-up post that I should have posted on the beginning of the month
ON SWEATER WEATHER
I’ve managed to write more than I did last month! *dances around* Though not by much, I’m quite happy to see that because I don’t feel like I’ve posted enough but apparently it’s not as bad as last month. This month, I got to review four books; Anything You Can Do, Royally Screwed, Royally Matched, and Mixed Up. I also talked about my dream bookish panels this month. Last but not least, I also posted an excerpt of Kristen Callihan’s new book The Hot Shot (which I’m so going to read after this) and a release day post for Tillie Cole‘s new novella, I Do, Babe.
BOOKS
The new book I finished this month is Tiny Pretty Things by Dhonielle Clayton and Sona Charaipotra. It’s definitely one of the really hyped-up YA books in the bookish community and I can see why. I didn’t regret giving in to the hype and started reading this because it’s really good! I’m currently reading the second book in the series, Shiny Broken Pieces. I haven’t reached even half of the book because I do find myself struggle a little bit reading this book. It’s just getting darker and darker!
Though I don’t get to read many new books this month, I did re-read some of my favourite books. This month, I decided to go on a Jay McLean marathon and re-read the entire More Than series. It consists of five books; More Than This, More Than Her, More Than Him, More Than Forever, and More Than Enough. I also re-read the spin-off to this series called Lucas. It’s part of her new series, the Preston Brothers. If you are looking for a heart-wrenching, sweet, heartbreaking, and forever kinda romance, give these two series a read!
I currently only have one book in my tbr and that is Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray. It’s not a secret anymore than I’m obsessed with her book so when I saw this finally out in my local bookstore, I went crazy and grabbed it right away. Can’t wait to fully immerse myself in this new dystopian world she created!
TV SHOWS
This month I was caught up watching Riverdale after a friend of mine recommended it and I FREAKING LOVED IT. I know of Archie, Betty, and Veronica but I never read their comics before so I can’t really comment on the adaptation side of it. This show has one of the most talented ensembles I’ve ever seen in a TV show and the storyline is really intriguing I can never wait to watch the next episode. If you are looking for a new TV show to watch, Riverdale is worth checking out 😉
BEAUTY
One topic that I really want to try writing about in this blog is skincare and makeup. There are times when I am obsessed with all things beauty and this month is one of those time. One thing I discover and really enjoy this month is sheet mask. I’ve been using various sheet masks from different Korean brands such as Nature Republic, Tony Moly, and The Face Shop and it’s really relaxing. I love how I can just put on my mask for about 10-20 minutes and just chill. I usually put on the mask while reading before bed. After that, I was left with a super smooth skin and I look a bit more awake in the morning.
My current favourites are the Tony Moly Aloe Mask Sheet and Tea Tree Mask Sheet. If you are looking for more ways to pamper yourself, sheet mask is definitely the one you should try! Also, as I mentioned, you can put on the mask while reading so that’s a win-win situation 😉
And that’s all I’ve got in April! I’ve been busy with work so I haven’t had the time to read more books or watch more movies and TV shows 🙁 Hopefully, I’ll get to read more this month because I’m super excited about a few new releases coming up.
How was your April and what are you looking forward to the most in May?
xo,
Naths
